Getting there from Birmingham New Street

  • Walk from New Street to Birmingham Moor Street, then train to Stourbridge Junction (West Midlands Railway).
  • Change to the shuttle to Stourbridge Town, then Diamond bus 242 from Stourbridge Bus Station to Kinver.
  • The 242 runs Monday to Saturday only. We found no Sunday service listed.

23 to 33 minutes by train to Stourbridge Junction, then about 30 minutes by bus. Allow 75 to 90 minutes in total and check before you go.

Start point
National Trust car park on Compton Road, west of Kinver village. From the bus, walk up from the village to the Edge.
Postcode
DY7 6DL
Terrain
Sandy heathland paths and woodland on the Edge, a descent to Blakeshall and some road walking. Sandstone drains well, so it is less muddy than clay routes.
Cafe or pub stop
The tearoom at the Holy Austin Rock Houses (National Trust), open Friday to Sunday in term time. Kinver High Street has pubs and cafes.
In winter
Best on a Saturday, because the bus does not run on Sundays.
