FAQ
Questions people ask
About cities, groups, crews, prices and safety. If yours is not here, email hello@specvista.com with Mirth in the subject.
- Can I come on my own?
Yes. Mirth is built for people coming alone. Most people in a new group will not know each other, and a lone newcomer is never placed among people who all know each other already.
- Which cities are open?
Anyone in any country can sign up. Each city opens for matched groups when 150 local people have joined, and for socials at 40, once it also has at least two approved hosts. Before that a city is seeding, and hosts can already list events there. Birmingham, UK is the first city to open, from November 2026. Every city page shows its live count.
- What kind of events are there?
Activities and socials. Activities start with walks and hikes, then members vote on what comes next: running, climbing, five-a-side, cycling or board games. Socials are pub, cafe and games nights with tables of four to six.
- How big are the groups?
Activities are six to eight people plus a host. Socials are 12 to 30 people at tables of four to six, mixed on purpose for part of the evening.
- Do I need to be fit or experienced?
No. You choose your level (beginner, intermediate or experienced) and groups are made from people at the same level. There are beginner-only events too.
- How much does it cost?
Events are free while we launch. Later, hosts will be able to charge for an event: you pay through Mirth when you book and the host is paid after the event, minus a small platform fee. Travel and food are your own. Membership is coming later and is not on sale yet.
- What if I need to cancel?
More than 72 hours before the start: a full refund. Between 72 and 24 hours: credit for another event. Under 24 hours: no refund. If the host or Mirth cancels, for example for weather, you always get a full refund.
- How do crews work?
After each event you mark who you would happily go again with. When people say yes to each other across two or three events, they become a crew and get first refusal on the next slot. You also see how many of your group want to go again with you, never who said no.
- Is it safe to meet people I have not met?
Members verify a phone number and photo, hosts pass ID and phone checks and accept host terms, and every event has start and end check-ins with a trusted contact you choose. There is a code of conduct, report and block, and removals are reviewed within 24 hours. The safety page has the detail.
- Can my club or group use Mirth?
Partner groups are coming. They will be free for groups, with newcomers offered to your group first. Tell us about your group on the For groups page and we will contact you when partner groups open in your city.
- Who organises the events?
Members do. Mirth is the platform: matching, booking, payments, safety tools and crews. Each event is created and organised by its host, a verified member, or by a partner group, who is responsible for it.
- Can I host?
Yes. Any member can apply to host. Hosts pass ID and phone checks, accept the host terms and declare qualifications for harder activities. Apply from the Host page, your city page or your account.
- How do I report a problem or complain?
Use the report link on any event, or the Report a problem page. Every report is read by a person, and any removal is reviewed within 24 hours. You can also make a complaint about how we handled a report.
- Is there an age limit?
Yes. Mirth is for adults: you must be 18 or over to join, host or attend.
- Is this a dating app?
No. Mirth is for making friends. There are no profiles to swipe and no feed.
- Who runs Mirth?
Mirth is a trading name of Specvista Technology, a UK technology company. Email hello@specvista.com with Mirth in the subject.
