Safety
Rules decided before anyone meets
You will be meeting people you do not know yet, sometimes outdoors and sometimes in winter. Mirth is the platform and members host the events, so the rules and tools are in place before anyone meets, in every city.
Members are 18 or over and verified
Every member confirms they are 18 or over, a phone number and a photo.
Hosts are verified members
Events are organised by member hosts, not by Mirth. Hosts pass ID and phone checks, accept the host terms, declare qualifications for harder activities, and are rated on reliability and whether people would go again with them. Poor ratings or upheld reports lead to review and removal.
Start and end check-ins
You check in when the event starts and when you are done. If you miss the end check-in, your host is alerted first; if we still cannot reach you 30 minutes later, your trusted contact is told and our team is asked to call.
A trusted contact for every event
You name someone who should know where you are. Their details are only shown to your host while an alert is open.
Reliability counts
A small group only works when people turn up. No-shows and very late cancellations lower your reliability score, and repeat no-shows pay a deposit that comes back as credit when they attend.
Women-only and beginner-only events
Choose the group you are comfortable starting with.
Code of conduct, report and block
Every member agrees to the code of conduct. You can report or block anyone, every report is read by a person, and any removal is reviewed within 24 hours.
Checks before an event goes live
An event only takes bookings once its host is verified and has accepted the host terms, the declared difficulty matches the host's qualification, and the group size is within the cap. Hosts and partner groups are responsible for their own events; Mirth is the platform and carries platform liability only.
Your location stays private
Exact location is only asked for during an event window, it is encrypted and it is deleted 48 hours after the event. Medical notes are encrypted and only shown to your host around the event.
Cancellations
Cancel more than 72 hours before the start for a full refund. Between 72 and 24 hours you get credit for another event. Under 24 hours there is no refund. If the host or Mirth calls an event off, for example for weather, you always get a full refund.
To report a member, a host or an event, or to make a complaint, use report a problem. Outdoor activities carry risks you accept when you join, set out in the draft event terms. Read the code of conduct or the FAQ.
