How it works
From one event to your own crew
Meeting strangers once is easy. Friendship needs the same people more than once. Every part of Mirth is designed so a single walk or social can turn into a regular group and then a community.
- 1
Join your city
Sign up with your country, city, what you like doing and your level. Anyone anywhere can join. Your city page shows how close it is to opening: 150 people for matched groups, 40 for socials.
- 2
Get matched
Pick an activity and we place you in a small group in one of your city's suggested slots: six to eight people plus a host for activities, tables of four to six at socials. Hosts are members, verified by us, who organise each event. Groups mix people coming back with people who are new, and a lone newcomer is never dropped into a group where everyone already knows each other.
- 3
Turn up to a plan that is already made
Your host shares the route or venue, meeting point, transport, kit, a weather check at 72 and 24 hours, and a go or no-go call. You check in at the start and the end, with a trusted contact you choose.
- 4
Say who you would go again with
After each event you quietly mark who you would happily see again. Then you see one message: how many of your group want to go again with you. Never who said no.
- 5
Become a crew
People who say yes to each other across two or three events become a crew. Your crew gets first refusal on the next slot, names itself after its third outing and meets at least twice a month.
- 6
Belong, and host if you want to
Crews mix at city socials, milestones mark 5, 10 and 25 events, and any verified member can apply to host. Crews that go off on their own are a win, not a loss.
What it costs
Events are free while we launch. Later, hosts can charge for an event: you pay through Mirth when you book, the host is paid after the event, and Mirth keeps a small platform fee. Travel and food are your own.
Paid events and membership: coming later
Where things stand
Sign-ups are open in every country. Mirthis the platform: members host the events. Birmingham, UK is the first city to open, with the first member-hosted walks and socials from November 2026. Partner groups and the “something to do this weekend” door come after that, and are marked as coming until they are real.
Find your people
Tell us your city and what you like doing. Your city's groups open when enough people nearby join, and we email you the moment they do.
