Code of conduct
Everyone should want to come back
Every member accepts this when they book an event. It is short because the idea is simple. Version 2026-10-02.
At the event
- Go at the pace of the group. Nobody gets left behind and nobody is rushed.
- Follow the host's instructions on the route, at crossings, at the venue and near livestock.
- Do the start and end check-ins. If you leave early, tell the host before you go.
- Bring the kit on the event's kit list. The host may turn away anyone who is not equipped for the day.
- No alcohol before or during an activity. A drink afterwards is fine.
With each other
- Be friendly to everyone, including people you would not usually talk to.
- No harassment of any kind, at the event, in the event chat or afterwards. No unwanted attention, comments about bodies or pressure to meet one to one.
- Mirth is not a dating service. Do not use events to approach people romantically.
- Ask before taking or sharing photos of other members. Never share someone's phone number or details outside the event.
- Keep event chats for the event: plans, lifts, kit and photos. No selling and no politics.
With places and the countryside
- Follow the local countryside code: leave gates as you find them, keep to paths, take litter home.
- Be courteous to venue staff and to people who live and work along the route.
If something goes wrong
Tell the host on the day, report it from your account, or email hello@specvista.com with Mirth in the subject. Reports are read by a person and kept confidential. We may remove anyone from an event, or from Mirth, for behaviour that breaks this code or puts others at risk. Every removal is reviewed within 24 hours.
